A merchant set out on horseback to buy some goods, accompanied by his
dog. He had a bag of money before him. After riding for some miles, he
went down to rest under a tree. He laid the bag down by his side. But,
when he remounted the horse he forgot it. By barking and howling, the
dog tried to tell its master of his mistake. The merchant thought that
the dog had gone mad and shot it. He discovered why the dog was barking
and howling. He went back to the place where he was resting and took his
bag. Then, he returned home very sad, because he had lost his faithful
dog.
